Object history | This book was apparently compiled for Lauzun et fils in Agen, a town in which the manufacturing of printed cottons had recently been established, according to the Almanach général des marchands, négociants et commerçants de la France in 1786 (p. 2). By 1815, Lauzun aîné (Lauzun senior) was listed in the Almanach de commerce de Paris, des départements de France as one of the principal manufacturers and businessmen in Agen, a draper (drapier) (p. 672); five years later he was one of seven businessmen (négociant) specialising in fine and heavy drapery (draperie fine grosse) (p. 828). |
