Folding telescopic view of the Great Exhibition in cardboard case. Five leaves, with front and back cover, attached by linen, with spy-glass set in front cover through which one can see the central hall of the exhibition with the Osler Fountain, the great tree, figures and exhibits. The front has a hand-coloured engraved design with the Royal Coat of Arms, allegorical figures and exhibits. The slip cover has the same design on the front, stamped ‘ALDER CHELTENHAM’, and is covered in a cream paper with an all-over diaper of tiny stars and dots.
