Pedal harp with a back of seven ribs, plain varnished. Pine belly painted with garlands, musical trophies and a landscape. Pillar of oval section with mouldings, terminating in a garlanded bracket beneath the scroll. Sycamore neck with a carved ungilt scroll with a detachable plate on the right side. Single action by crochettes.

Marks and inscriptions
Stamped on neck: S. B. Renault / & / Chatelain A Paris. Also an inscription painted at the top of the belly: Renault & Chatelain / [Rue] de Braque a Paris.
