Distaff with eight rib 'birdcage' and finial carved to represent the beheading of St John the Baptist below an acorn, the shaft carved with thirteen figures from the Old Testament, including the following groups: the annointing of David, David and Goliath, David and Bathsheba, Susanna and the Elders, the Sacrifice of Isaac (or Cain killing Abel), uncertain scene. The background is composed of interlacing branches and foliage.
