Randy Tuten worked as a poster artist for San Francisco performance venue the Avalon before joining Bill Graham in 1969 at the Fillmore, also in San Francisco. Tuten became Graham's first in-house poster artist. Much of Tuten's style reflected an awareness of more traditional product advertising.
