Both pastels belonged to Sir John Tollemache, M.P. in 1857 and remained in the family of the Barons Tollemache of Peckforton Castle, Cheshire until 1953. They were sold at Christie's, 15 May 1953 (Lot 92) and subsequently entered the collection of Sir Bruce Ingram O.B.E., M.C. |
