Gilt brass plaquette of the Virgin with the dead Christ, Spain, ca. 1600
Physical description
Gilt brass plaquette of the Virgin with the dead Christ. The Virgin sits with her head inclined to the left and supports a three quarter length naked figure of Christ. His head is bent down over her knee and his right arm stretched out. The loop at the top is a later addition.
