A rectangular folder printed in black and gold on a pale green ground, bearing the words on the front ‘CHRISTMAS IN YE OLDEN TYME. KEEP IT NOW AS THEY KEPT IT THEN HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO’. ‘London, MARCUS WARD & Co.’ The back has a circular motif with a goblet at the centre and the words ‘CHRISTMAS COMES BUT ONCE A YEAR. WASSAIL. DRINKHAIL.’ Inside are three folding cards, colour lithographs on gilt grounds, depicting scenes of medieval cheer.
