Place of origin |
This Cold War poster portrays the Soviets as law-abiding peace keepers, symbolised by the ink and paper of the Stockholm Declaration. A traditional Bolshevik graphic device, the communists occupy an elevated status, literally the upper portion of the image. The enemy capitalists, meanwhile - seeking to destroy communist attempts at peace through militarist imperatives - are relegated to the lower margin. In this poster, all capitalists are symbolised as a homogenous threat, there is no reference to particular nationalities.
