‘Embrace No. 52’
1970
Eikoh Hosoe is one of Japan’s leading post-war photographers. In this series from 1970, he explored the body, inspired by the nudes of the German photographer Bill Brandt. This image shows the human form reduced to an intimate, erotic abstraction.
