André Kertész (1894–1985)
Swimmer
1917

André Kertész was a Hungarian photographer who,
like many of his contemporaries, moved to Paris and later New York. He was influential in making artistic photographs using photojournalistic techniques. In this early work, he used a split-second exposure to capture a swimmer in motion, reflections on the water and the distortions of the body.
