He is bald and has a papier maché painted face and carved wooden hands, legs and shoes and a carved jointed wooden torso. His full beard and handlebar moustache are painted grey, as are his eye sockets below the brows. He has a long burgundy woollen tunic trimmed with yellow Russia braid, worn over burgundy artificial silk knee breeches.
