Contact prints
1981

These contact prints show the first stage in making the fake 19th-century photographs on display nearby. The foliage and a model dressed in Victorian-style clothing were photographed with a modern camera. The negatives were then used to produce enlarged paper negatives. These were printed on paper from the 1840s. After ageing treatments with bleach and dye, the prints were pasted onto old album pages.
