Trick puppet of an expanding soldier. The legs and body are constructed of hooped rings to allow for contraction and expansion, and the shoulders and upper body are carved. The carved wooden face has glass eyes and painted features, the ears are made of leather, and the hands and shoes are of carved and painted wood. His uniform comprises a red satin jacket with simulated brass buttons, black cotton trousers with side-stripes of yellow satin, and a stiff-peaked black woollen cap with a red woollen band and silver badge. With wooden control bars and strings
