Vote for the National Government

Poster
1931 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This poster, issued by the Conservative Party, is aimed at attracting working class voters, traditionally supporters of the Labour Party. The poster's message is a literal one: the text reads "two years disappointment behind him" and the working class figure wearing a cloth flat cap is seen with the word "LABOUR" behind his head. The conservatives sought to equate the social and economic disappointments of the working class with the failings of the current Labour government.
