Glove puppet of a Chinese lady wearing a wide-sleeved orange cotton kimono with pale green bands at the wrist openings, a turquoise collar and a blue panel from neck to waist, fastened by two metal balls attached to green loops. The kimono is decorated with flowers, birds and circular patterns created by gold and green embroidery and satin stitch. The kimono is lined with pink cotton and is worn over wide lilac trousers edged in black braid. Carved head, neck and articulated hands set with metal rings for string manipulation, painted white, with features delicately painted in black paint for the eyes and eyebrows, blue paint for the pupils and red paint for the lips, with black horse-hair attached, styled in a bun and decorated with a gold metallic hair slide. The puppet has tiny feet in embroidered white and blue slippers, and cloth legs, the lower part covered in white satin to represent trousers, with pale turquoise embroidered detail at the ankle end.
