Machine woven carpet, Axminster. Red field with polychrome decoration. There is a central indigo octagonal medallion with angel figures and flowering vines, the smaller centrepeice with human figures flanked by yellow open scrolling vine stripe and serrated leaves, open spandrels with sea dragons and large 'Viking' ships, in an indigo border of stylised birds and scrolling vines between hooked vine and minor stripes.
