Standing cup, with wide and short body, slightly widened towards the mouth, resting on a foot ring; repousse with acanthus and palmette leaves rising vertically from the base up to its middle section and engraved with a "chinoiserie" motif above it with a blank centre that would contain a coat-of-arms in. The lid is similarly embossed and surmounted by a finial. Cast handles in the form of S-scrolls decorated with female figures and leaves. Gilt inside.

Brief description
Two-handled cup with cover, silver, English (London), the lid marked for assay year 1679-80, and unidentified maker's mark 'TM' in monogramme; the cup marked for 1683-4 and unidentified maker's mark possibly 'OS'.
