Knife basket and liner, silver-gilt, the knife basket is of oblong form with gently sloping sides, rounded to semi-circular ends. It is supported by four cast feet in the shape of paws. There is a cast lion mask with drop ring handles at either end of the basket which is further ornamented with a regular engraved pattern of criss-crossing lines to imitate wickerwork and an applied bead border around the rim. Engraved with a royal coat of arms on the side of the basket. The liner fits within the basket. Two drop ring handles at either end facilitate its use.
