Marks and inscriptions | Marked once in the bowl anf three times on the back of the stem with the mark of a wyvern in a shaped shield. (The same mark is shown in GEP How, Catalogue of the Ellis Sale, 13-14th November, 1935, Lot 142. How following CJ Jackson ascribes the mark to Leicester the crest of wich is a wyvern, sans legs, ermine. The wyvern on this marks has legs.) |
