Marks and inscriptions | WR the R issuing from the W. Jackson attributes the mark to William Ramsey or William Robinson of Newcastle (Robinson was certainly working by this time). It might also have been William Ring of Shaftesbury. |

Object history | Bequest - Harold Short Acquisition RF: 57 / 2118 The conjoined WR mark is probably that of William Ring of Shaftesbury. The seal top is of the Salisbury group B type as described by Tim Kent on page 14 of "West Country Silver Spoons & Their Makers 1550-1750". |
