Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn)

Print
1967 (Printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This print is one of a series issued in ten different colourways by Andy Warhol (1928-1987). Marilyn Monroe is one of the iconic faces of the 20th century. Countless images of her are in circulation, but perhaps Warhol's is the most familiar representation of her features. Every print and painting he made of Marilyn used the same publicity photograph taken by Gene Kornman for the 1953 film Niagara.
