This marble pilaster is carved in relief with an arabesque composed of a ribbon from which a bunch of fruit, a crown, a torch and another bunch of fruit is suspended. On either side there is a demi-baluster carved with acanthus leaves. It is from the Villa Ludovisci, a suburban villa in Rome, built in the seventeenth century and destroyed at the end of the nineteenth century.
