Printed cotton dress fabric, possibly for the African market. A printed design in dark brown, mid-brown and white. The borders consist of rows of small curved motifs. Two thirds of the central panel has a design of stylised small leaved dahlia heads and fruits, and this is divided from the remaining third by a zig-zag vertical line. The design in the remaining third is of a six-legged, tailed terrapin-like creature, each flanked by a narrow rowing boat, all against a ground of small overlapping shapes. Two selvedges.
