Place of origin |
Dress fabric, printed cotton. A very long pattern repeat - at least 178 cm deep. A row in rose pink is infilled with a broken (stylised) floral meander in cream and edges the main field of a cream ground broken with an overall fret design in dark blue. Over this is placed a leafy floral spray in brown, blue and green dotted with white carrying occasional rose pink blossoms on thin stems. This is broken by a deep band (61 cm.) of red patterned with "exotic" lily forms and leaves in rose pink dotted and edged with white. Occasional bird and butterfly forms edge the main pattern, all of which is edged top and bottom by a floral weft meander of bud, leaves and blossoms again in pink and white.
Some printing faults. Two selvedges.
