Hollyer was the photographer of choice for the artistic set of the late 19th century. His Portraits of Many Persons of Note fills three volumes with nearly 200 portraits and comprises a pictorial Who's Who of late Victorian and Edwardian celebrities. Donald Tovey (1875-1940) was a brilliant musician who began composing at the age of eight.

Tovey began composing at the age of eight, while a piano pupil of Sophie Weisse. He studied Classics in Oxford, became a protege of Austro-Hungarian violinist, composer, conductor and teacher Joseph Joachim.
