Inscribed 'it is proposed to do this paper also / on a larger scale for the large rooms, taking up the / whole width of the paper. / Please to get one set out / to that size' and with colour notes.
Object history
Probably unexecuted, this wallpaper belongs to the group of 'historical papers that was ultimately rejected, but this design was adapted to use the rose and portcullis only, plus the initials V and R to make a widely used pattern.
