Diablo Canyon is a central Californian nuclear power plant owned by Pacific Gas & Electric Company. The plant and its two reactors were built in 1968 on a stretch of the California coastline. Diablo Canyon became a focus of the anti-nuclear movement of the 1970s which protested the production of nuclear energy.
