Object history
The subject exists in more versions than any other of the theatre interiors, there being at least six paintings and four drawings recorded, the earliest probably beinf about 1890. The Old Bedford Music Hall in Camden Town was burnt down in 1899 and subsequently rebuilt as the New Bedford. This plate is in the same sense as the paintings, and is one of a series published by Carfax & Co. in 1915 and 1916
