Edward Bawden designed this poster for London Transport to promote coach trips to three sites in the home counties: Eastbury Manor House (an Elizabethan house), in Barking, Essex, Knebworth House (the home of Bulwer Lytton) in Hertfordshire, and Knole House (the home of Lord Sackville) in Kent. Each house is presented in a simplified vignette, presented like views seen through apertures in a fabric-like surface with a pattern of oak leaves and branches printed in green on black.
