Costume worn by Mysie Monte as Mrs Boyle. Long knee skirt of light brown wool tweed, box pleated with three to front and back and one at either side. The skirt fastens at the side with a concealed zip and a hook and eye. The skirt is lined with brown red triacetate.

Object history | This costume was worn by Mysie Monte as Mrs Boyle in Agatha Christie's long running play 'The Mousetrap' between 1955-1967. The production, which was premiered at the Ambassadors Theatre, London, on 25 November 1952, was directed by Peter Cotes and the scenery was designed by Roger Furse. The costume designer for the production was not credited. Mysie Monte took over as Mrs Boyle on 2 May 1955 and played the role (with one break for illness) until November 1967 (new cast 27 November 1967). |
