Object history
Costume for Peter worn by Pauline Chase in J. M. Barrie's play 'Peter Pan'. The play was originally produced at the Duke of York's Theatre, London, 27th December 1904, and was revived annually until 1914. The scenery was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens (although he is not credited in the programme), and the director was Dion Boucicault. The costumes were designed by Wilhelm and William Nicholson and were made by B J Simmons.
Pauline Chase first played Peter in 1906 and annually thereafter until 1913
