John F. Pasmore active 1841-1886 Highland Rams Fighting About 1850 In the 19th century images of animals fighting and depictions of Scottish subjects were both enormously popular. This painting seems to have been influenced by the work of the artist James Ward, especially Bulls Fighting (on display nearby in Room 87).
