Montage of cuttings with miniature of Urban VIII.
Cut-out decoration in classical styles made up as a single leaf, with vignettes (bee on blue ground with palmette at each end) centrally a portrait of Pope Urban VIII (1623-1644) framed by festoons and supported by two cherubs, the whole above a cartouche with the word "Urbanus VIII Pont. Max." on blue ground ; attributed to A. M. Antonozzi, following an added inscription dated 1650.

Object history
From the collection of William Young Ottley (d.1836); his sale, Sotheby's London, 11-12 May 1838; collection of Samuel Rogers: his sale, Christie and Manson, London, 28 April 1856 and following days, lot 1004; bought in 1856 by the Art Museum for £6.16.6, together with 3127 (inv. no. 3577-1856; price of 3126 alone: £3.5.0); transferred from the Art Museum, Dec. 1863.
