This poster was designed to encourage support in Catalonia for the Basques who, in 1937, were under siege by Nationalist forces, the latter supported by the German Condor Legion. It was the Condor Legion that bombed Guernica, the Basques' spiritual capital, in April 1937, and helped to organise the assault on the 'Iron Ring' defences around Republican Bilbao.

Around a central image of a Republican woman urging men to fight are slightly abstracted depictions of the Basque and Catalan flags. In the lower foreground, six helmeted soldiers march in formation towards the right. They carry bayonets. In the middle ground are blue silhouettes of soldiers in battle. In the upper left corner of the rear ground, four black fighter planes are in flight. Signed Carmona.
