Object history
Acquisition type: Gift
Production
Acquired as probably Pont-aux-Choux about 1760 by comparison with a piece illustrated by Docteur Chompret, Jean Bloch, Jacques Gue´rin, and Paul Alfassa, Repertoire de la Faïence Francaise, Paris, 1933-35, Vol. III, pl. 4A; compare also Françoise Duret-Robert, Pont-aux-Choux, Encylopedie CdA, July 1971, fig. 3, an ecuelle with similar rice grain pattern and finial; examined by Christian Maire who considered the linear detailing between the grains in the rice grain pattern characteristic of Pont-aux-Choux.
