Acquired as Septfontaines, late 18th century; for similar plates dated 'before 1787' , but with painted not impressed marks, see Faïence fines de Septfontaines, 1989, cat. 70 and 75-77. This plate has the impressed marks introduced in 1787; according to the catalogue (p.184) the variant here is not the oldest mark.
