Acquired as Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, c. 1760. For a similarly decorated sauceboat dated c. 1740 see Dorothée Guillemé Brulon, Paris & Rouen - Sources et rayonnement, Histoire de la Faïence Francaise, Paris, 1998, p. 114 bottom centre. However, for strong arguments for a later dating see R. J. Charleston in Transactions of the English Ceramic Circle, 1963, pp 229-30.
