Given to Mr Rosenheim by Lt. Col. G. B. Croft-Lyons, who stated that he purchased it at Hove. Bought at the Rosenheim sale, 3, May 1923, lot 222.

Acquired as Marseilles, ca. 1750; reattributed to factory of Veuve Perrin; illustrated in Arthur Lane, French Faïence, 1948, pl. 51, as Savy factory, ca. 1760-70.
