Acquired as Chantilly; relabelled as 'factory unknown, ca.1750-60. The cup is from a group that has been attributed to Orléans: see A. Dawson, Catalogue of French Porcelain ..., p. 244 and note 13. However, this attribution has been queried. See Cyrille Froissart, 'La porcelaine d'Orléans (1753-82) et l'attribution des marques au lambel', Revue de la Société des Amis du Musée National de Céramique, no. 8, 1999.
