Saucer of soft-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded. Straight sided. The ground of blue celeste is trellised diamond-ways in gold round the slanting rim. Painted with a subject after Boucher 'Les Amants Surpris' in the centre, showing a pair of lovers under a woody bank with sheep at their feet, and spied by two others from behind a tree-trunk.
