Object history
Artist's Statement:
"For some time I have been interested in exploring and changing the viewer’s relationship to the work, investigating the space between the work and the viewer. The viewer can imagine easily picking the piece up off the pedestal and using it or turning it over in their hands to examine it. With the ‘Sentinel’ pieces this is not so easily imagined. They have taken on a different relationship with the viewer, that is they relate to the body not the hand, hold their own space regardless of the pedestal and confront the viewer as an equal."
Jane Bruce
