Shoe worn by Phyllis Broughton, possibly as Ben Zoualle.
Object history
This shoe was worn in a production of R. Reece's burlesque 'The Forty Thieves' performed at the Gaiety Theatre, London on 27th December 1880. The production was directed by R Soutar and R Reece, the music was composed and arranged by W M Lutz, the dances were arranged by John D'Auban, and the scenery was by Mr Banks.
