Silver tissue bolero decorated with crystal beads and pearls and triangular groups of pink and ameythst jewels and rhinestone flower edging the upper neck and back; the bolero is completely edged with hanging coins. Very full hanging sleeves of off white chiffon decorated with minute triangular groups of coloured sequins. Lined with off white silk.

Object history
This costume was worn in a production of R. Reece's burlesque 'The Forty Thieves' performed at the Gaiety Theatre, London on 27th December 1880. The production was directed by R Soutar and R Reece, the music was composed and arranged by W M Lutz, the dances were arranged by John D'Auban, and the scenery was by Mr Banks.
