PAIR OF GUTTER SPOUTS Wrought iron Germany; 18th century Elaborate gutter spouts in the form of mythical beasts were common in Germany in the 17th century. Splendidly gilded examples can still be seen in situ on the Schloss in Hildesheim, and it is likely that these too were originally painted and gilded. see also the spout in the form of a devil.
