Wig made from curled grey mohair knotted into a cotton gauze foundation with a gauze band front. The gauze over the forehead has been stained with stage make-up. The hair has been gathered into a pony tail at the nape of the neck. The pony tail has been fastened with a black cotton bow, embellished with a diamante brooch. There are drawstrings at the ears of the wig to fasten the wig in place.

Wig made from curled grey mohair knotted into a cotton gauze foundation with a gauze band front. The gauze over the forehead has been stained with stage make-up. The hair has been gathered into a pony tail at the nape of the neck. The pony tail has been fastened with a black cotton bow, embellished with a diamante brooch. There are drawstrings at the ears of the wig to fasten the wig in place.

Object history
Wig worn by Murray Carrington as David Garrick in Tom Robertson's play 'David Garrick', possibly for the Carrington stock company performances in Portsmouth, May-June 1922. The wig was also worn by Carrington as Charles Surface in Sheridan's play "The School for Scandal".
