Object history
The three dolls are dresed as characters from the play 'A School for Scandal' by Richard Brinsley Sheridan, which was first performed at Drury Lane Theatre in London on May 8th 1777. Hugh Hugo apparently made dolls to represent some of the other characters in the play, such as Maria.
