This costume was worn by Billy Dainty as Widow Twankey (with a suitable clothes-line wig) and was originally made for a production of Aladdin in Stockport in December 1983. The whole outfit was conceived and made in 24 hours by costumier Paddie Dickie when the original costume proved unsuitable.

Costume worn by Billy Dainty as Widow Twankey in the walk-down finale. Elaborate dress with panniers, the bodice in gold lurex, the skirt in salmon pink covered in abstract patterns of gold sequins, the panniers of gold lurex covered by a layer of yellow net. The whole costume decorated with gold lurex and yellow net ruffles and large red bows trimmed with gold ribbon at front of bodice and to the sides of the panniers.
