The main body, formed from one length of cloth folded in half (the fold forming the pocket of the bag), is handwoven with a black cotton warp and red wool weft with geometric designs in yellow, pink, blue and green wool supplementary weft weave.
This is stitched to a narrow strip of black cloth which forms the sides and extends to the carrying strap and is finished in twisted knotted tassels.
The front of the bag is embellished with applied rectangles of brushed red cotton, several rows of silver bosses and silver tassels. A heavy fringe of strung cowries and fine braided red cotton hang from a latticework of "Job's Tears" and red and black pom-poms.
