Object history | Thought to be worn by a man of one of the Karen groups of hill people of Burma. The RP's reveal little about the donor, Miss Potts. In a letter (4/1/65) to the Museum offering the swords, opium pipe and "native tops" ( IS 84 & 85-1965) Miss Potts writes that her father bought them in Burma before the 1914 War. |
Production | Sandra Dudley of Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford suggested in 1999 a Karen male attribution to this tunic based on a similar example in the Pitt Rivers Museum. |
